Title: Insights into the Latino Market that Matter Most Today

Description:  Wrap-up Hispanic Heritage Month on October 15, with local PR & strategic communications pro, Stefanie Santos McLeese. Her work in the Latino market has taken her to Puerto Rico; Auguascalientes, Mexico; and Buenos Aires, Argentina. She led the development and execution of a national, bilingual media campaign for the National Office of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, and helped spearhead the Nissan Versa launch into the U.S. Latino market. Stefanie will share insights with us on how to engage Hispanic communities with your organization, whether it's for employee recruitment or consumer campaigns. She will also recommend online influencers and organizations we should be following to better understand Latino culture in the U.S., and she will shed some light on the difference between the terms "Latino" and "Hispanic." (As a Tejana, she will tell you about that, too!) Join us for this incredibly authentic talk with a local entrepreneur and Latina, Stefanie Santos McLeese.

About the Speaker: Stefanie Santos McLeese began her career by growing quickly within a variety of corporate communications roles for national and global companies based in the Dallas market. After eight years of corporate experience, she launched her independent PR and communications consulting practice and has been a trusted advisor to C-suite executives with national and global brands for nearly a decade. She has been a go-to resource for some of Dallas’ top PR firms.

Ms. McLeese and her family relocated to the Champaign-Urbana, Illinois area in 2015. The seasoned PR pro quickly became a preferred vendor on the University of Illinois campus and a highly referred resource throughout the Midwest. Ms. McLeese was contracted by Archer Daniels Midland (NYSE: ADM) to help lead the global, internal rollout of the Feeding Your Food Business campaign, and contracted to serve as the acting National Director of Public Relations for LodgicEveryday Community, a new Moose International concept, with locations in Champaign, IL; Madison, WI; and opening soon in Louisville, KY. These highlights are just a few of the global and national brands in her portfolio.
