January 24th, Social Event: Flower Arranging at the Japan House

Looking forward to the spring and flower blossoms?  You are invited to a Japanese flower arrangement event. You can join fellow ECCC members to learn flower arrangement techniques and take your work home with you.

This social event will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, January 24 at Japan House on the University of Illinois campus. Japan House is located at 2000 S. Lincoln Ave., Urbana.

Our Instructor, Jeanne Holy is s a certified Ikenobo professor.  She will lead us in Jiyuka style of Ikenobo Ikebana, which is the art of Japanese floral arrangement. The theme will be, "Contemplating Spring through Ikebana," and we'll make arrangements with flowering branches, tulips, baby's breath and pine.

A $30 registration fee includes floral materials, a vase and light refreshments.
